The morning started
with a short drive to Zentrum |
The grounds of Zentrum
are absolutely beautiful

The folks at BMW decorated
the grounds with many wonderful toys |
Including some in
very new and interesting colors. One that wasn't displayed outside (but
was seen by many during the plant tour) was a color called Palmetto II.
If you love to hate the Turquoise, this pea soup baby vomit color will
give you reason to re-evaluate the turquoise as the worst color.

There were many interesting
sites inside including this all aluminum Z3 (with horrible interior colors),
a concept roadster, new motor-scooters (in background of concept roadster),
some art cars, and the grand-dad of the Z3
Another interesting
display was this apparently normal ///M
Roadster, with ///M
colored stripes on the trunk...and a little placard on the dash labeling
it as the 100,000th ///M.The
car also included an oil temp gauge in the middle guage position.

And here is my newest
upgrade plans |
Complete with woodtrim
steering wheel, gear shift, and brake handle (all of which I already have)

Over at the airport
(just down the street from Zentrum), the press was on hand to cover the
auto-x |
Folks in most every
type of Z3 were lined up to take a couple runs on the course

The runs were quite
exciting (although the track was fairly easy), with no serious mishaps |
After the events of the day, we all headed to the Peace
Center area for the outdoor dinner setup by BMW
A jazz band played through the night
And all seemed to be relaxing and having a good time

A number of people reported seeing a Tilly clad person peering
from bushes everywhere
