We awake to another
beautiful Texas morning and met up with all of the other convoys that converged
on Dallas. |
Among the group, was our chase vehicle - a loaded 740 provided
by Mr. Moritz of Moritz BMW himself.
Contained within were
2 sets of full size tires, a fuel pump, other parts and tools, a cellphone,
GPS, and Larry, Moritz's star tech |
A mile long line of Z3s heading down the highway is quite
a sight
As we head toward Little
Rock, Arkansas, the group starts breaking up in traffic. |
If keeping a convoy together on a highway is tough, getting
them all to exit and get through town is more difficult
But with ///Monsters
like this, at least we didn't have to worry about them Mercedes getting
in the way |
Prestige BMW of Little Rock was our regrouping point. The
convoy was provided parking spaces, refreshments, and the event got some
local news coverage
But they wouldn't let
us take a ride in the ///M
Coupe |
Vince takes a break in the hot Arkansas sun and and contemplates
adding someone to the Honorary Texan list
Eileen and Doug become
honorary members of the California Convoy |
Back on the road again, we managed to stay together for
awhile

But eventually we had
to regroup. We stopped at this great rest stop that provided many photo
opportunities |
Back on the road again, we head into Tennessee...
Through Memphis... |
Toward our destination of Nashville
Along the way, Dieter
Z hits 10K |
As the sun sets on a long day of driving, we get closer
to our destination
Finally we get into
Nashville where our first stop is BMW of Nashville. They opened up their
huge, but unfinished, dealership. They provided a catered dinner, a tour
of their shop, and 2 kegs of Shiners Bock |
As the evening comes to a close, we head across the road
to our Hotels for a much needed rest
