A bright and early
start East out of Arizona |
|
The little rock
out-croppings we get to drive through are a welcome sight from the straight
roads in the flatlands

Arizona
New Mexico
|
Crossing into New Mexico
was uneventful as there weren't any prominent signs advertising that you
had entered another state. As a matter of fact, the first time I noticed
that we were in New Mexico was when a billboard was advertising New Mexico
Indian jewelry |
|
And so back on the
flatlands, I took lots of boring pictures which I again will not bore
you with. But this particular shot came out nice.

|
|
Here in the flatlands,
if you want to move, ya jus pack up the house (literally) and find a new
piece of (flat) land. |
|
Did I mention its
flat? It seems like there are always hills and mountains which you are
driving to...but somehow you always seem to drive around them. But these
mountains into Texas look promising!
|
 |
|
|
News in El Paso reported
that at approximately 3:50pm Central time, a successful incursion into the
Republic of Texas was made by 5 small and nimble vehicles bearing California
tags. The purpose of the incursion is still unknown. |
|
The mountains were
fun while they lasted, but we were soon back on flat land.
The news of the incursion must have spread. Before we arrived in Pecos,
we encountered no less than 4 speed traps and radar cruisers. The ol'
Valentine 1 was making much noise.

Last bunch of hills
into Pacos, Tx. Not much here...nothing worth even putting on digital film

Having flown from
Sandy Eggo to Dallas many times on business, and now driving through it...I
have a new appreciation for flying over it. Don't get me wrong...its beautiful
country... there's just a lot of it!
